Work sucks? It doesn't have to. My job is to make sure other people love their jobs.
As writer Annie Dillard famously said, "How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives." For most of us, many of our days are spent at work. To be precise, the average person spends 90,000 hours or more at work. That's one-third of our precious lives spent at our jobs.
Learning this fact while completing my BA/BSc in Psychology motivated me to pursue my Masters in Business Psychology - an area of psychology that focuses on human behaviour and cognition at work. If one-third of your life is spent at work, I am driven to be the person to make that "one-third" the best it can be.
I now work full-time in workplace mental health and wellbeing, and started writing to share my evidence-based expertise with those seeking inspiration, help, or advice.
Outside of work, I love the outdoors, getting creative, and nerding out about motorsports, games, LEGO, Star Wars, and the like.
